What Does the Bible Say About Anxiety and Worry?

Jesus uses simple logic — worry changes nothing; trust changes everything.

See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they?

God cares for birds — how much more does He care for you.

Peace is not a circumstance — it is a Person who gives it.

Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, but a kind word makes it glad.

God knows anxiety is real — and He sends people to speak life into us.

Yahweh himself is who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Don't be afraid. Don't be dismayed.

God goes ahead of us into every uncertain future.

Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.

Jesus' open invitation to those exhausted by worry and striving.

In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety.

Even sleep is a gift — resting in God's protection.

So that with good courage we say, 'The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?'

Fear of people dissolves when God is our helper.

For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.

Anxiety is not God's design — power, love, and a sound mind are.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

God's presence transforms even the darkest valley — we are never alone.
